I am back in New York! Woohoo!!! A few weeks late in delivering all this news but here nonetheless. Life is starting to slow down now. So on to the news:
-Went down south to see my dad's (North Carolina) and mom's (South Carolina) family. Mainly my grandmothers. My dad's is doing great. Very active and all but my moms is having a hard time. She had a stroke last year but has made a great recovery. Still cant really walk though as she has lost the control of her right leg. She looks good though and was so happy to see us. It was Ronny's first time meeting her and Grandma was thrilled. :) It was nice seeing her but broke my heart as she is getting so old. 90 this year.
Had a great time visiting my best friend, Janice and her hubby, Jeremy as well. Didnt really take a lot of pics but will try and upload the ones I did take at some point. It was SO hot down south. Like summer hot. Had to turn the AC on most of the time but then again it went up to 70 degrees up here in NY as well! Its back to normal though. VERY cold today.
-I have a job. It was my first and only interview and they gave me the job on the same day which was great. I got it before I left for the south so was nice to know I had a job to go back to. Its as a Sales Assistant and temp-to-perm. Its for a pre-employment background screening company. They do drug, criminal, education, employment, etc. checks for companies who want to check out a potential employee. I mainly write RFP's (proposals) but am looking for another job as I really want to pursue marketing. I find this job boring although its for a very nice company. I just dont see myself using this experience in the future. I am also looking to get my associates degree online for marketing as well. Will keep you up to date on this front.
-Ronny is doing temp work helping an artist paint in the city. I found it for him on craigslist. Gives him something to do until he gets his work permit sorted. We are hiring a lawyer that a brother recommended (at a GREAT price) to file Ronny's greencard for us. Its a bit of a relief for me to not have to do it all alone. He said (as did the brother) that after filing Ronny should get his work permit in a month and his greencard interview in as little as 4 months! So that is great news. I cant wait to have it all sorted.
I guess that is about it for now. I am so thrilled to be home. Its been great. I feel more and more myself and more happy each day.
Ill try and post again soon. Love you all!
